Doing a U-Turn - driving test centre may return to Louth

What a complete u-turn! Just a couple of months after the great and the
-
Oh, for the chance for learners to do this in Louth!
good decided that what Louth people really needed was to travel 15 miles
to take their driving test in an unfamiliar town on unfamiliar roads,
we have a possible change of minds!
The original reason for closing the centre was that it was not up to the
standards customers demanded, although all the customers I spoke to
were happy to have the centre based in a tent if it meant keeping it in
Louth. However, no alternative venues were deemed a suitable replacement
so making learners travel to Grimsby or Lincoln was the only solution
offered to the town.
Rumours are now afoot that it has been suggested the driving centre
could return to a temporary base within the Meridian Leisure Centre,
meaning Louth learners could once again take their tests on familiar
ground.
Now my memory could be failing me, but didn't Brian Damms suggest that
solution in the local paper ages ago? Perhaps if they'd listened to the
people of Louth first time round....?

Comments
What an absurd comment. If it had been down to Brian Damms and one or two others, there would have been no leisure centre at all, against the wishes of the majority of the "people of Louth". The delays caused largely by him meant that the facilities aren't as extensive as they might have been and were delayed by over a year, costing local taxpayers more.
Maybe your memory is failing you...
