A RESIDENTS' Association in Louth is against plans which will see an end to buses travelling west on Mercer Row.

Stagecoach East Midlands is changing its routes which will see outbound buses travel via Church Street and Newmarket rather than Mercer Row.

The decision was made as parked cars on Mercer Row were causing difficulties for buses to get through.

At the latest meeting of Louth Town Council, councillor James Pocklington spoke on behalf of the Mount Pleasant Residents' Association which is concerned about the effect of buses travelling along Church Street.

He said: "The residents' association is really unhappy about the situation. There is a lot of concern, on this particular proposal and it hopes the town council will do more about parking issues on Queen Street and Mercer Row."

Councillor George Horton said once Lincolnshire County Council takes up parking enforcement, it could help resolve the problem.
